Ex-NFL player Alex Van Dyke is Sacramento’s most watched entrepreneur.

Alex Van Dyke had a successful Professional Football career in the NFL.  After his career with the NFL , he started his own business, Going Vertical, which is an athletic training facility located in Sacramento, CA .

VanDyke stated that he wanted to start Going Vertical to help people achieve their goals. He wanted to establish top of line professional training for athletes and non-athletes.

Before his career with the NFL, VanDyke attended the University of Nevada-Reno, and became one of the University’s all time leading receivers , breaking three NCAA records for receptions (129), receiving (1,854) and all purpose yards (3,100).  He walked away from UNR with 1994-1995 All American wide receiver honors, and was inducted into the UNR Hall of Fame.

VanDyke graduated from UNR in 1996, and became the highest draft pick ever to come out of that University . He was selected by the New York Jets as the 1st pick in the second round, and 31st overall. He went on to play five years in the NFL, where he played with the New York Jets, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Oakland Raiders. During his professional football career, VanDyke had the opportunity to line up with other great receivers such as Keyshawn Johnson and Wayne Chrebet (Jets), Charles Johnson and Torrence Small (Eagles), and future Hall of Famers Jerry Rice, and Tim Brown (Raiders).

After a successful professional football career, VanDyke utilized his background and experience to open a Going Vertical athletic training facility in Sacramento, CA . Sports Management World Wide has been active in helping him formulate his transition into the business world.

Lisa started training with VanDyke when she noticed a dramatic change in her son’s athletics performance. “He keeps me on my toes and keeps me focused at achieving my weight loss goals,” she said .

VanDyke’s plans are to expand his business to the Bay Area, and to help aspiring NFL players qualify for the NFL draft.  He truly believes that it takes hard work, planning, and dedication to achieve realistic goals.
